In November of 2008 we finally got answers to why our son was different. Our little 3 year old son was diagnosed with autism. Those
words were hard to hear. Why our little man we asked ourselves? We
tried to focus on trying to break into Jadon's world and spend our lives
with him, tried to see what life was like through his eyes. Lots of
strength with the help of speech and occupational therapy he started
little by little to step out into our world to join us. It is a hard
journey but every minute of it is so worth the challenge. Jadon proves
to amaze us regularly with all that he can do and all that he has
accomplished. He went from a little guy who spent his days rocking in
the corner to a child who smiles, laughs and takes pride in his sticky
power (his own way to explain his good days) He is even getting
mainstreamed with the rest of his peers. He still faces challenges in
his life but we try to greet them as little steps that become huge
victories.
Team Jadon's first autism walk was last year and we
are all proud to return to raise money to help some amazing kids get
services to help them succeed in life. Team Jadon walks for the Duluth
Public Schools and the Scottish Rite Clinic for Childhood language
disorders.
